Kerry Tremlett

I am an artist and printmaker based in Devon. I studied BA textile design in the 1980s and specialised in printed surface decoration. This textile background gave me a great love of colour, pattern and design. I discovered traditional printmaking in 2004 and quickly became hooked and eventually bought my own Victorian Albion press dated 1861.

Using these traditional methods and tools I achieve a contemporary feel to my work.  I am inspired by my beautiful surroundings here in Devon allowing me to interpret the natural world in my own style.

I work with two printmaking techniques, monotype and relief.

They achieve very different results but are equally enjoyable.  Printmaking is a wonderfully exciting way to get colour on to paper and I really enjoy the surprise element that you get with each changing layer.
