Sally Clarke-Leggatt

Living in the countryside and riding horses from the age of two, I began painting countryside and equestrian portraits from my teenage years, before spending ten years painting portrayals of drivers and cars in motorsport. I now specialise in watercolour portraits of horses and enjoy exploring the traditional pageantry of the horse in foreign countries. I am a member of the Society of Equestrian Artists and Exhibitors.

Living on a farm, I am surrounded by the animals and birds that I paint with all of my feathered subjects being real and having names ! The slate is Welsh slate and is carefully chosen so that the face of the slate almost dictates which bird will be portrayed on its surface.
