After National Service in the 1950’s, I completed a formal art education at Barnet College in Hertfordshire. Since then I have developed my love of painting and exhibited in a range of galleries across the UK ; with my work being held in private collections throughout Britain and in Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, China and Japan.
I am a water colourist of some 45 years experience and accomplished in other styles of painting including acrylics, oils and more recently collage – with the use of handmade papers and natural fibres with a mixed media approach to my work.
I continue to be inspired by rural landscapes with architectural interest like those found in some remote areas of Wales and Scotland. My recent work has been greatly influenced by visits to rustic villages and towns in France. In the last two years, I have become captivated by Tuscan landscapes which best display my bold and adventurous use of colour and texture.
