Peter Bowtell

I qualified as an architect in London in the late 1950’s.  Although I was keen to draw and paint before this time, the training undoubtedly helped me to shape these skills and to develop a keen interest in architectural subjects.  Having moved to the area in 1969, I have exhibited for many years with the Milton Keynes Society of Artists, the Apollo Group (a quartet of local painters) and more recently with the Buckingham Art Society

I enjoy exploring the interaction between the English landscape and its historic buildings, usually in water colour ; sometimes with pen and ink, but also in pastel, acrylic and oil colour.  Occasionally I like to move away from a purely representational approach by crystallising the essence of a subject in a more geometric interpretation.
