John Napper

I was born in London 60 years ago and have been painting for many years, specializing in motoring subjects and I am proud to have been accepted as a member by the Guild of Motoring Artists.

I trained as a graphic designer at West Surrey College of Art & Design at the beginning of the 1970s. Since then I have been employed producing finished artwork for print until accepting redundancy in 2005. I am now a self-employed badge manufacturer working from my home in Milton Keynes.

I specialise in motoring subjects and this is a painting of a Fire Marshall at the 1996 French Grand Prix, inspired by a very small photo in Autosport magazine that fired my imagination. It is an acrylic painting on board which is my preferred medium.
