Irene Foster

I have been seriously painting since 2000.  Being a member of MKSA has allowed me to explore all media and be in the company of like minded people.  I wrote the newsletter for 5 years and am still a very active member. As a teacher I communicate the importance of observation and interpretation and  hope I inspire the artist within.

Recent Major Exhibitions: Royal Birmingham Society of Artists;  Windsor Art Exhibition; Reading Contemporary Art Fair; AIM Gallery in CMK

I like to work figuratively to keep up drawing skills but I love working intuitively.  Some of my more abstract works are borne out of my love of sunsets and skies.  I work mainly in oils allowing the vibrancy I need to convey.  Influenced by Turner I try to give an impression of a journey either real or imagined. The subject may vary but I hope my enthusiasm always shows through.
